We have become very lenient in regard to the gun range rules over the years because the club has enjoyed very relaxed enforcement on the non-public (North) side of the range.  With the range expansion and more public activity in this area, club members must know and abide by these rules or face total loss of range privileges.

Thunder Tactical Shooters,Inc (TTS) Members must schedule all practices in Practiscore please contact a Board member to enter practice match.

TTS members must have paid the current club insurance.  The TTS insurance applies only to scheduled club activities.

Shooters are accepting all responsibility and liability when shooting outside of scheduled events.  TGR (Thunder Gun Range) management will decide if a shooter may shoot in the IDPA/USPSA style open bays after check-in with the TGR management and payment of the range fees.  Generally, there are no “range safety officers” in this private area.

Shooters understand that the TTS club accepts no responsibility or liability for the safety of the shooters, spectators, or the TGR property.  Each shooter understands and accepts all inherent dangers and liabilities that are involved with using firearms.  All shooters who bring a non-member (new) shooter with them to TGR will accept full responsibility for those parties with regard to safety and rules.

Club membership does not allow unlimited non-scheduled range activities and is at the discretion of the range management.

General Range Rules:

The following rules apply to members of Thunder Tactical Shooters Club (TTS) who want to shoot IDPA/USPSA style at Thunder Gun Range (TGR) at times other than monthly TTS scheduled events.  These rules also identify who is permitted to use the TTS club equipment.

All shooting practice activities must NOT be performed alone.  At least two or more adult shooters must be present in the bay area at all times.  The practice ‘organizer’ is responsible for all the group activities and cannot delegate responsibility to others.

Organizer must be a club Safety Officer/Range Officer (SO/RO) or accompanied by a club recognized SO/RO equivalent.  Thunder Tactical Shooters membership will be required for all shooters.

No rifles or shotguns are allowed in the ‘pistol bays’ without prior approval of the TTS Board.  Extra fees may be required.

No steel targets of any kind may be used without prior approval.

Any shooting will be done in strict accordance with IDPA/USPSA and NRA safety rules.  Run the practice session with same safety rules as a match (muzzle safe points, cold range off the firing line, etc, …).

Provide their own expendable supplies such as paper targets, tape, etc,... Clean up the bay when finished.

Only match directors (MD’s) may access the club equipment located in the bays or in the storage containers; i.e., target stands and sticks.  They are also responsible for the bay clean-up and re-storage of the equipment.

Our ability to follow the club and range rules will determine our future at this facility.  The owner of the Thunder Gun Range has been very gracious in allowing us to conduct events that are not in strict compliance with his existing public range rules; e.g., drawing from holsters, shooting on the move, rapid-fire shooting, etc,...  It is our responsibility to ensure everything we do is completed in a safe and responsible manner.  We need to keep our relationship on cordial terms or risk the loss of our club’s range privileges.

Any questions on this policy should be directed to a TTS Club Officer.
